Halo 2: Anniversary, the shiny remaster of Bungie’s seminal Xbox shooter sequel, is, at long last, coming to Steam, the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass for PC next Tuesday, 12th May, as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
The Master Chief Collection, you may recall, initially arrived PC last December. However, unlike the original 2014 Xbox One version – which featured every major series entry released to date – only Halo: Reach was included at launch.
That lonely number became two in March, when Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was added to The Master Chief Collection’s PC release, and its expansion into a three-game bundle next week means that we’re at the half-way point, with Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4 still needed before everything is present and correct.

Halo 2: Anniversary’s solo campaign and multiplayer modes can be played using either Anniversary’s fancied-up visuals or those from the original Halo 2 (switchable at any time), and as with other games in the Master Chief Collection on PC, there’s support for 4k UHD, 60+ FPS, and ultra-wide monitors, plus customisable mouse and keyboard, and adjustable FOV.
